Two hardy Scots, Walter and Jane Thomson, sailed abroad the Prince George from Britain to Holdfast Bay, South Australia, in 1838. The Thomson’s became pioneers of the South Australian wine industry, establishing vineyards renowned for the production of supreme quality wine grapes.
